Former Nigerian Ambassador to the Scandinavian region, Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, has picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the September 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa State.
Ambassador Igali, who obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, on Monday, pledged to make Bayelsa State productive, if elected Governor. He said that his focus is to create an entrepreneurial and productive society.
“We are a state where almost everybody work for government or our traditional method of fishing and farming. But there is no state in this country that has the endowment of Bayelsa. We have about 30 percent of oil and gas. We are going to focus a lot on agriculture but we will create jobs. We will put a lot of young people into entrepreneurship and productivity. We will make Bayelsa a productive society where everybody is producing something” Igali said.
He further predicted that the successor to Governor Seriake Dickson will emerge in rancor-free party primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) devoid of money politics and name-dropping.
The Ambassador, who also retired as a Federal Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Power and one of the leading aspirants, had earlier said that the duo of the State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson and former President Goodluck Jonathan, have assured all the governorship aspirants of the party of a level playing ground during the party primaries in the State.
Ambassador Igali also pledged to build on the developmental project of the incumbent, Governor Seriake Dickson.
