It’s no more news that 2 Titans, Sandra, and Theo (Santheo) were evicted from the BBTitan show on Sunday. It was the first eviction since the start of the show and as expected, emotions were high. Sandra and Theo were part of the 4 housemates introduced into the house after the start of the show and have spent less than 1 week in the house.

Last Monday, Sandra and Theo Traw (Santheo), Tsatsii and Ebubu (Royals), Justin and Yvonne (Juvone), and Nelisa and Yemi Cregx (Yelisa) were nominated for eviction. Royals were saved by the Head of the House and replaced by Jay and Olivia (Juiovla).

A look at how this came about gives an insight into how the pairing changes the dynamics of nominations, voting, and evictions. According to the new rule and as seen during the last eviction, a pair is vulnerable if they fail to get votes, or the audience is undecided about which of the pairs to vote for. In this case, the evicted housemates were only able to get 12.79% of the total number of nominated housemates’ votes. This could be a result because they spent less time in the house or because one of the pair failed to impress viewers, resulting in low votes.

Nominations are also tricky because one member of a pair could be viewed as a threat and nominated but this ultimately affects the other member of the same pair.

According to the evicted housemates, Sandra and Theo, there was beef involved in the nominations. Theo explained that he didn’t get much interaction in terms of conversation from the housemates and his fight with Juicy J and Jenny O may have contributed to it. The fight happened soon after the fight between Sandra and Olivia which almost got physical.

Sandra attributed her nomination by the housemates to her stepping on toes and “cracking necks”. She also referenced that she was seen as a strong competitor hence the nomination by the housemates.

This Sunday will see another round of evictions but for now, 22 housemates made up of 11 Nigerians and 11 South Africans are left to compete for the ultimate prize of $100,000.
