Frontline socialite and businessman, Aare Bolu Akin-Olugbade is dead.
P.M.EXPRESS learnt that the international businessman passed on Wednesday afternoon at an Isolation Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.
The deceased, an illustrious son and pride to the Owu people of Abeokuta, was in the news recently when he took delivery of his 10th Rolls Royce with the latest being a Rolls Royce Cullinan.
He took delivery of the luxury automobile to open the new palace he built in Abeokuta.
It was learnt from close family sources that the late billionaire fell ill after returning from a wedding ceremony on December 26, 2020, where he had served as Chairman of the reception.
He was later rushed to Paelon Memorial Hospital, Ikeja. He was reportedly discharged last week.
However, by last weekend, he was rushed to one of the isolation centres in Lagos.
Akin-Olugbade was a successful lawyer with a Doctorate in Company Law from Cambridge University.
He was an unabashed lover of high-end Rolls Royce cars, and was globally reputed as one of the largest collectors of Rolls Royce.
He was so obsessed with the brand that he had 10 Rolls Royce cars, which had his customized plate numbers- ‘BOLU 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…”
Akin-Olugbade was the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Owu Kingdom.
He was aged 64.
