Nigeria Jollof or Ghana jollof? We might never know the answer but on December 9, the two countries will battle for bragging rights all over again on Azumah Nelson’s Fight Night V: Ghana vs. Nigeria.
According to Boxing Africa, the card, presented by the legendary Nelson in conjunction with HeMann Promotions, will take place at Accra’s Bukom Boxing Arena.
In the main event, crowd pleasing Wahab Oluwaseun (15-0, 10 KO’s) of Nigeria will square versus Ghana’s Bright Ayala (14-0, 9 KO’s) for the vacant WBO Pan African super featherweight title.
The undercard will feature three bruising local grudge matches, headed by another battle of undefeated up and comers: Kpakpo Allotey (11-0, 8 KO’s) will take on the hard-hitting Robert Quaye (15-0, 12 KO’s) for the National super lightweight title.
Abraham Osei-Bonsu (10-2-1, 9 KO’s), who suffered a controversial 12-round split decision loss to the aforementioned Oluwaseun last April at this same venue, will look to redeem himself versus the dangerous Felix Ajom (7-0-1, 6 KO’s) for the National super featherweight title.
Flashy bantamweight prospect Wasiru Mohammed (3-0, 3 KO’s) will round out the card against fellow undefeated Success Tetteh (5-0, 3 KO’s) in a bout that could steal the show.
Top to bottom, Nelson has delivered what could be the most competitive card of 2017 in Ghana this year.
