A 15-year old boy has landed in trouble after he was reportedly caught having sex with a 13-year old girl believed to be her lover in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oluwole Olaniyan Street, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos, where they reside with their parents.
It was gathered that the boy and the girl engaged in sex romp when their parents were not around but were caught by their neighbours, who informed the girl’s parents and they did not take it lightly. The victim claimed that the boy convinced and lured her into the act before they were caught.
The girl’s parents then went to the Police at Isokoko Division and reported that the boy defiled her under aged daughter.
Thus, the suspect was arrested. After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
However, the boy pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the crime.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O Sule-Amzat, then granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in a home pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 2nd December, 2019.
It was gathered that the defendant was granted bail because he was also a minor but if he was found culpable for rape he would face the consequences. The names of the defendant and victim were withheld in line with the policy of P.M.EXPRESS.
