A sex-starved 15-year old boy has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring and engaging his neighbour’s 4-year old girl in sex before he was caught in the act.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Mile 12 area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim, engaged her in the act and while still in the act, he was caught by a neighbour who raised alarm which attracted the victim’s parents.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over the alleged offence.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court.
But the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in the juvenile home pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The charge read:
That you the defendant ‘m’ on the 1st day of November, 2024, about 1900hours, at Mile 12 Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial, did defile the victim ‘f’ 4years by forcefully having carnal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27 and punishable under Section 210(8) of Rights Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The names of both the defendant and victim were withheld because they are still minors under the Criminal law of the State in line with the policy of P.M.EXPRESS.
