A 16-year old boy has been arrested in Lagos for engaging a 16-year old girl in a sex romp before they were caught.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Asalu Street, Ijaiye in Ojokoro area of Lagos where they reside.
According to police the suspect and another teenager now at large lured the victim and they engaged in a sex romp.
However, after the romp, the parents of the girl later knew what happened and confronted the girl. She opened up claiming that she was confused and lured into the act.
The matter was reported to the police and the boy was arrested. His mother went to the police station and stood as surety for him.
However, the mother failed to produce the boy when the police requested for him. The police then arrested the boy’s mother and charged her before the Ogba Magistrates Court for perversion of justice by failing to produce the boy.
The boy was later produced and was charged in the same court and he pleaded guilty of sleeping with the girl.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi, informed the court that the defendant was a minor and did not waste the time of the court by pleading guilty.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.Sule-Amzat, found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to two hours of community service.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the parents of the girl were bitter over the incident because the victim lost her virginity in the process.
The identity of both the boy and the girl were known but withheld by P.M.EXPRESS because of their ages.
