A 20-year old young lady, Miss Ayo Kudrick has died after a bread factory engine exploded, its connecting pipe went off and pierced through the building wall and penetrated her stomach in their room where was preparing to go to work.
The incident happened at 14 Olatrunji Close by Council Bus Stop in Idimu, Lagos where the victim lived with her parents, while the factory was located beside the house where the incident occurred.
The owner of the bread factory popularly called Saris has been arrested and detained at Idimu Police Division over the death of Ayo who was an apprentice in fashion designing.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when the incident happened, she did not die immediately but her intestines came out and she bled profusely.
It was gathered that the bread owner first rushed her to a private hospital but she was rejected and directed to Isolo General hospital which also rejected her.
She was then taken to LUTH at Idiaraba in Mushin area. By then, she had lost so much blood and eventually died there before doctors would attend to her.
When our correspondent visited the scene, the residents were in front of the deceased’s house expressing shock over what happened.
At the police station where Saris was detained, our reporter saw him at the counter where he was writing statement over the ugly incident.
The DPO was said to have gone to the scene of the incident to ascertain what actually happened by the time our reporter could not reach the Police Public Relations Officer.
Meanwhile, a police source who confirmed the incident said the police have commenced investigation into the matter and if the owner of the bakery was found culpable, he will be prosecuted for murder.
Residents who troopend to the house wondered how the pipe passed through the wall to kill the victim.
Some of them blamed the owner for not properly locating the engine that developed faults and caused the accident.
Meanwhile the victim’s corpse has been deposited at the mortuary where autopsy will be carried out before her burial.
The late Ayo’s parents are from Ogun State but she was born in Lagos, where she went to school before she deciding to learn fashion designing.
