Three students of Bright Stars Academy, Satellite Town, Lagos State shone like stars when the Navy Officers Wives Association, NOWA Primary and Secondary Schools held their annual Inter-House Sports competition recently in Lagos State.
The trio coincidentally are from the same family. Adetola Ibojo of Primary Four Jasmine won two gold medals and was also handed a special award by the school’s management for her exceptional performance. She won gold in the 100 and 200m. The bronze came in the relay race.
The elder Ibojo, Adebola won gold in the 100 and 200m race for Junior Secondary School, JSS 1-3. He also set a new school record in the 100m Intermediate race.
The last of the trio, Adeola won two gold medals in the Busting of Balloons and 50m races.
Speaking at the end of the highly competitive sporting event, the father of the budding athletes, Franklin expressed joy at the performance of his children and said that their performance was not a fluke but a result of hard work and consistency.
An elated Franklin said, “I’m happy with the performance of my kids, they are a pride of any parent and I see them not only representing Nigeria in international sporting events and also winning laurels for the country in the nearest future.”
