Barring any unforeseen circumstance, Bright Stars Mock World Cup Competition, will kick off on 26 November 2022 at the academy’s home ground, First Bank Sports Complex, Satellite Town, Lagos State.
This was contained in a statement released and signed by the President of the academy, Francis Ibojo during the week.
According to the statement, students of the academy have been grouped into four age categories: U-8, U-10, U-13 and U-18. Ibojo noted that even if Nigeria didn’t qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the management of the academy wants the students to have a feel of the mundial on the field of play.
Continuing, the grassroots soccer tactician said all hands are on deck to ensure that the event is a success. He urged all the students to imbibe the spirit of fair play.
“I want all of you to play by the rules of the game, you win some, lose some and have stalemates in some cases,” he advised.
He concluded by calling on parents and guardians to come out in their numbers to come and cheer their ward’s team to success.
