Buruj CEO Donates Cash To Victorious Lagos State Girls’ Football Team At NYG

The Chief Executive Officer of Buruj Football Academy and Buruj Football Club, Waheed Salaudeen, has donated hundreds of thousands of Naira to the victorious Lagos State girls’ football team, which won the football event at the National Youth Games in Delta State.

 

The donation, which was announced during the Lagos State Annual General Assembly Football Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, 21st September, 2024, highlights the growing support for youth football in Lagos.

 

Salaudeen’s generous contribution was part of an ongoing series of donations from stakeholders eager to celebrate the girls’ remarkable achievement.

Addressing the gathering, Salaudeen praised the team’s hard work and determination, noting that their victory serves as an inspiration to young athletes across the country.

 

“These girls have shown extraordinary talent and resilience. This donation is a small way to encourage them and let them know that the entire football community is behind them,” Salaudeen said.

 

The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) Chairman, Hajji Gafar, expressed deep appreciation for Salaudeen’s gesture and emphasized the importance of supporting young talents in football.

 

“We are grateful to Waheed Salaudeen and Buruj Football Academy for their unwavering support. This kind of backing is crucial for the development of our young athletes,” Gafar stated.

 

The cash donation was met with excitement and gratitude from the team, who had worked tirelessly to secure their victory at the National Youth Games.

 

The event also served as a platform for other stakeholders to pledge their support, with many recognizing the need for continued investment in youth football.

 

One of the team captains expressed her joy, saying, “We are overwhelmed by the support from Mr. Salaudeen and everyone who believes in us. It feels great to know that our efforts are recognized, and it pushes us to aim even higher”.

 

As stakeholders continue to rally around the victorious team, the LSFA remains committed to creating more opportunities for young footballers in Lagos State, ensuring that talents like these continue to shine on national and international stages.
