The CEO of Buruj Sports Academy, Dr.Salaudeen Waheed, has lavished praise on the Chairman of Ikorodu Divisional Football Association, Mr. Lukman Shonibare, for his unflinching support to the players and officials of the academy as they intensify preparationsfor their tour of the United Kingdom.
Speaking after his side’s 2-0 win over Vinogano FC in a warm up game at the Strong Tower Pitch, Ikorodu, on Saturday, the game which was at the instance of the chieftain of grassroots football Ikorodu in Ikorodu area, Dr. Salaudeen disclosed that he and his management team as well as the players are highly appreciative of the support they are getting just as he promised that the boys will put Ikorodu and Lagos in the spotlight when they get to the United Kingdom.
It would be recalled that during one of the outings of the team few weeks ago, Mr. Shonibare pledged his support for the team in any area they would need it, particularly in the area of organising friendly games.
The Vinogano FC match was one of those games while the next game against yet to be named opponent will come up in two weeks time.
The English and Welsh Super Cup tournaments will hold between July 25 and August 4 this year and Manchester and Cardiff respectively.
The Nigerian representatives are the defending champions of the English Super Cup organised by Team Tours Direct following their exploits last year.
