Speaking ahead of their departure, the CEO of the academy, Salaudeen Waheed, thanked the Almighty God for helping him and his management team to surmount all the challenges of travel logistics and promised that his boys will successfully defend the title they won last year.
He also expressed gratitude to certain individuals, Rev. Mother Abimbola Ajayi (Iya Adura 1), Mrs Saidat Odofin and government agencies; Lagos State Football Association(LSFA), Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), Nigeria Immigration Services(NIS), all of whom he said had been cooperating with the management of the academy to make sure that the trip eventually saw the light of the day. He added that the players have resolved to be good ambassadors and also do the country proud.
The English Super Cup will see teams from various continents of the world gather in the iconic city of Manchester under the watchful eyes of seasoned scouts and agents who are ready to shop for young football players for their teams.
