After about three-week break granted them by the management to celebrate Christmas and New Year festivities with family and friends, players and technical crew of Buruj Sports Academy returned to work on Monday as they commenced their intensive training.
Both the new entrants and the returning players started arriving the camp since weekend and they are all in top shape to hit the pitch of play for right conditioning as they are getting set for another busy year that will see them feature in some domestic and international competitions.
Some of the foreign outings ahead of the players this year are Manchester Cup and Spanish Cup amongst others.
Registration for those tournaments began last year and according to the recent release by the management, about six slots were still up for grabs to complete the squad.
The Ikorodu-based academy are also preparing for their upcoming 10th Anniversary Celebrations which has been tentatively scheduled to hold on February 10, this year.
It promises to be an event with a mix of sports and music as Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere will lead some upcoming young artistes to perform on the day.
The CEO, Salaudeen Waheed has promised the players a swell time this year while promising that both the old and new entrants will be given equal opportunity to shine on so many platforms that are being put in place for their exposure.
