The police at Idimu Division seemed to be in dilemma on what to do with the corpse of an unidentified commercial driver who was found dead inside his bus while driving on the high way in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered the police was yet to have any contact with his family because there was no way to locate the family yet.

The incident happened close to Council bus stop in Idimu area of Lagos where he was plying before he was found dead on the driver’s seat.

The matter was reported to the Idimu Police Division and the DPO led his team to the scene, recovered the corpse and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report. The yellow commercial bus inside which the deceased passed on was also recovered and parked at the police station as exhibit.

What would have caused his death was not yet known as the autopsy report was not yet out.
However, residents suspected that he might have died due to stress or may have had a terminal ailment that would have caused his death.

It was gathered that there was no incidence of accident in the area and the bus had no scratch or damage.

When our correspondent visited the police station, the DPO was not around to comment on the matter. However, police sources confirmed the incident and said that they were working to contact his family.

Another source said that the police has contacted his 18 years old daughter who revealed that she had not seen her father for the past 17 years. This fueled the suspicion that he may have separated from his family for several years.

The police source said the corpse has been deposited at the Yaba mortuary, and if the family was not located within a stipulated time, the corpse will qualify for mass burial by the state government.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the level of stress has been unprecedented as both drivers and passengers stay in traffic for several hours under. It appeared this might continue this festive period as more people hit the roads to attend to their needs. The people in charge of traffic in the state seemed to be helpless at the moment.
