Business magnate and Medical Doctor, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe is bereaved.
The Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti and former Chairman of GZ Industries (GZI) — West Africa’s leading aluminum can manufacturer— lost his beloved wife, Mrs. Gbemisola Olutayo Olowolafe.
The late Mrs. Olowolafe died on Tuesday March 11 after a brief illness.
She was 63 years of age.
A statement from the family signed by the deceased’s daughter, Mrs Olanike Anani, confirmed the passing.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs Gbemisola Olutayo Olowolafe, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of strength to our family.
“She departed this world peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday March 11th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
A woman of grace, compassion, and steadfast faith, Gbemisola dedicated her life to uplifting those around her. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet generosity touched countless lives, and her legacy of service and love will endure for generations to come.
“During this difficult time, we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support, prayers, and condolences from friends and well-wishers across the world. We kindly request privacy as we come to terms with our loss and make arrangements to honour her life in a manner befitting her extraordinary impact.
“Further details regarding funeral rites and memorial services will be communicated in due course.
“May her soul rest in peace, amen.”
