An Nnewi, Anambra State-based businessman, Uche Francis has been ordered remanded in prison custody for the first 30 days to enable the police conclude investigation on him for allegedly adulterating the motorcycle spare parts brand of Unigo Resources Limited, a company also based in Nnewi.
Francis was also accused of allegedly selling those fake products nationwide.
The suspect was ordered remanded by Chief Magistrate Mrs. O.A Komolafe following a remand application presented before the court by the law officer attached with General Investigation, FCIID, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos Moruf Animashaun Esq.
Animashaun told the court that he brought the remand application pursuant to section 264 (1) of the administration of criminal justice law of Lagos State, 2015.
He told the court that there is a cause to order the remand of the suspect, Francis and others still at large in prison custody for adulterating Unigo Motorcycle Spare parts.
Animashaun told the court that the suspect was arrested following a petition by the management of Unigo Resource Limited, Manufacturer of Unigo Motorcycle Spare Parts that the suspects adulterated their products which comprises spocket, chain and shoe leader and selling them nation wide.
He said that during investigation, the suspect allegedly confessed to the crime and said that he actually adulterated Unigo’s Products.
After listening, Chief Magistrate Mrs. O.A Komolafe ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody for the first 30 days to enable the police conclude their investigation and possible arraignment at a higher court.
