Cardinal Okpalaeke Congratulates Senator Umeh

The Labour Party Senator-Elect for Anambra Central, Senator Dr Victor Umeh, OFR, on Sunday visited the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, His Eminence, Peter Ebele Cardinal Okpalaeke at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Ekwulobia, where he intimated the Cardinal on the outcome of the Anambra Central Senatorial Election and the controversy surrounding the presidential Election in which Mr. Peter Obi was the Labour Party Candidate.
Senator Umeh also thanked the Cardinal for his encouragements; moral support and prayers throughout the period of campaigns. However, to further demonstrate his gratitude, he presented his Certificate of Return to the Cardinal.
On the other hand, His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke, congratulated Senator Victor Umeh on his victory at the poll and expressed confidence in his ability to ensure the effective representation of Anambra Central Senatorial District and to courageously speak in favour of Ndị Igbo in the Senate as well as his penchant for promoting good governance. He therefore blessed the Senator, his wife and the Certificate of Return presented to him, and prayed for the Grace of God to enable him perform more than expected, and for divine protection as he continue to render selfless sacrifice to humanity while entrusting the presidential election into God’s hands.
