Care Giver Arrested For Using Razor Blade To Inflicts Injury On Girl, 4

A 44-year old female care giver,  Clarita Chianugo Obiajulu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly displaying cruelty on a 4-year old girl, Miss Iremide Sunday, by inflicting injuries on her body with a razor blade.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ibukunle Street, Merit Bus Stop, Alagbado area of Lagos.
The suspect was saddled with the care of the 4-year old victim by her mother, Mrs. Tosin Sunday. She was said to have had a minor disagreement over an undisclosed matter with the victim’s mother and the suspect, Clarita, did not take it lightly.
The suspect was said to have bought a razor blade and inflicted injury on the 4-year old’s body. And when the mother went to take the victim, she saw her badly injured and raised an alarm.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and Clarita was arrested. She was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
