A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Henry Edet has resigned from the Catholic priesthood and also quitted the Catholic Church.
He says he should be addressed as Reverend Patrick Edet. And on a lighter note, he says he can still be called Father.
This according to him marked the beginning of his freedom and liberty for his spirit and soul.
To those who will criticize his decision, Father Edet said he had asked God to forgive them.
PM EXPRESS reports that the announcement which caught many people with surprised was made while the Catholic priest made the announcement was addressing his radio audience on Planet 101.1FM, Uyo.
He said: “From Today Henceforth, I cease to be a Catholic Priest, in my spirit and in my soul… I forgive those who will criticize me, I live for God…I seek freedom for my soul. As I leave, I leave smiling, I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM FREE”.
