Celebrating A Proactive, Dynamic & Youthful Imo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu As He Marks His Birthday

On a special day like this, we throw caution to the wind while rolling the drums to celebrate a man of grace, one of Imo State finest, dynamic and cerebral lawmakers; Nigeria’s youngest and most youthful Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara  Iwuanyanwu (Mr. Capacity), on the occasion marking his eventful birthday celebration.

At your first attempt for elective position, you took the world by surprise through your proactive, well coordinated, robust, effective, responsive and people-tailored campaign mantra and formidable political structure; traversing the length and breadth, nooks and crannies of the 11 Wards; consulting the youths, market women, religious leaders as well as critical stakeholders in the LGA and across the Federal Constituency – with a message of hope and assurances for a Greater Nwangele under your watch, if elected. 

As a man of few words but a powerful boardroom political strategist, you have over the years patiently learnt the ropes and dynamics of power; exposing yourself to the noiseless  leadership style of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The above assertion is evident in a number of political offices, public trust and national assignments you had held in the All Progressives Congress (APC)  before your bold step in 2019  to represent the good people of Nwangele Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly: And the positions included but not limited to:  

1. Committee Secretary,   APC 2015 Governorship Primaries, Akwa Ibom State. 

2. Committee Secretary, APC 2016 Governorship Primaries, Edo State.

3. Secretary, APC Kogi State Registration and Revalidation Exercise 2016. 

4. Zonal Committee Financial Secretary, APC South-East Zone, 2018.

5. Member, Ekiti State Election Implementation Committee, 2018. 

This is outside state assignments, now as a lawmaker and Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly since his election in 2019.

With your exploits in the real estate business before your fora into politics, rich profile within the corporate sharks of the banking industry and social re-engineering in the political space, the name ‘CAPACITY’ did not come to many keen observers of your growing political  trajectory by surprise. To them, the older you grow the more useful you become to the society. 

Having graciously climbed the Imo political leadership pyramid given your most revered and strategic position as the second highest ranking member of the Imo State House of Assembly; and one of the avowed supporters of Sen. Hope Uzodinma; an  uncompromised Apostle of the Shared Prosperity Administration. Posterity will  be fair to you with your current legislative outings even as you have continued to work very assiduously to making  this reflect on the members of your immediate Constituency; Nwangele LGA.

However, within your two years in office as a member of the 9th Imo State of Assembly, any honest, independent and dispassionate assessment of your legislative performance, will score you high judging by your Constituency projects, youth empowerment programmes, apart from your sponsored Bills and motions which is your primary assignment as a lawmaker.

While others silently cry over paucity of funds as it is quite understandable in the state , you have gone out of your way to build 11 functional water projects worth millions of Naira across all the communities in Nwangele LGA, donated over 8 classy utility cars to your constituents, built a 3-bedroom bungalow flat for a poor indigent member of your constituency, singlehandedly built and donated a 4-bedroom state-of-art – Parsonage to the New Covenant Church Amuzi, Dim -Na -Nume, Nwangele LGA, monthly payment of salaries to 105 Aides in the LGA, constructed two befitting markets in Abajah and Abba Autonomous Communities, respectively, sports development through the N3million  Yearly Football Competition tagged :  ‘Capacity Nwangele Youth Tournament’. Distribution of minding-blowing food palliatives to over 3000 homes in Nwangele LGA during the ravaging COVID-19 global pandemic, among others.
