Chairman, Council Of Ezendigbo, Eze Lawrence Promises To Unite Igbo In Lagos State

The new Chairman of the Igbo Council of traditional leaders a.k.a Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze, has thanked the Ohanaeze Ndigbo for reposing confidence in him and promised to unite the Igbo as he takes over the leadership of the Council in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Lawrence, who is also the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government Council of Ezendigbo, stated this at the weekend during the Chieftaincy title coronation of Prophetess Adaobi Favour Orjiakor in his palace at Ikotun, Lagos State.
Eze described his appointment as the Chairman of Council of traditional rulers in the State as a call to duty and promised to lead the group with sincerity, honesty and diligence.
He explained that his first task will be to bring both the traditional rulers and Igbo people in the State together and to work for the interest of Ndigbo. He stated that he is passionate about the Igbo and will continue to play positive roles for prosperity of Igbo people while upholding their culture and tradition.
Eze Lawrence explained that he did not solicit for the position and since the Ohanaeze Ndigbo decided to give him the position based on confidence and trust they had on him, he will not disappoint them. He therefore, solicited for the cooperation of every Igbo sons and daughters to always have the interest of the Igbo at heart and love one another.
Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze was appointed the Chairman of Council of traditional rulers by Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, led by their President, Chief Solomon Aguene, following the unanimous demands by the people after the sack of Eze Chris Offia over incompetence and negligence of duty for the period he was the Chairman.
Others appointed with Eze Lawrence were, Ezendigbo in Shasha Kingdom, Eze Vincent Iwobi while Eze Edwin Obi was appointed as Secretary and others.
They were mandated to sanitize the Ezendigbo and restore dignity of the reverend Igbo traditional stool in Lagos State.
Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze hails from Awka in Anambra State and holds the chieftaincy title of Agunabo in Awka before he was crowned Ezendigbo in Alimosho Local Government area some years ago. He was also a former board member of Federal Medical Center, a successful businessman and happily married with children.
Since Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze was appointed as the Chairman of Council of traditional rulers in Lagos State, there has been reactions as many Igbo stakeholders welcomed the development and stated that Ohanaeze Ndigbo will now have direction to showcase the Igbo culture as apolitical organization, while some said the changes ought to have done before now.
