The Chairman Council of Ndieze of the  Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, has made a passionate appeal to the security agencies and Lagos State Government for the release of Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate, Eze Fredrick Nwajiagu, over his threat to invite the proscribe Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, to secure the properties of Igbo people in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Chika Nwokedi made the plea at his palace and stated that Eze Nwajiagu made those unguided utterances due to ignorance, noting that it was an unfortunate situation but it has nothing to do with Ndigbo living in Lagos State.
He expressed shock and disappointment on the trending video, while he condemned in strongest terms the action by Nwajiagu, stating categorically that it was not the position of Ndigbo on the matter.
Eze Nwokedi stated that Eze Nwajiagu is an Igbo man and Ezendigbo despite his travails and the Igbo cannot deny him because he made such mistake that landed him in trouble.
“Ndieze disassociates from Eze Frederick Nwajiagu (Eze Ndigbo Ajao Estate) threat to invite IPOB to Lagos, he is not the spokesman for Ndigbo in Lagos State, he should be liable for his actions” he said.
Nwokedi called on Governor Sanwo-Olu to intervene and ask the security agencies to release him as a friend of Ndigbo to enable stakeholders talk to him in order to avoid future occurrence.
He stated that Ndigbo are law abiding and hard working people with legitimate means of living, who believe in peaceful coexistence among the host and other ethnic groups in Lagos State and do not associate themselves with any forms of violence.
Eze Nwokedi urged Ndigbo in Lagos to remain law abiding, go about their normal businesses and continue to live in peace and harmony with other ethnic nationalities in Lagos State.
The man at the center of the situation, Eze Nwajiagu, landed in trouble after the video he recorded went viral on Friday, where he threatened to invite members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra to secure the properties of Igbo people in the state.
The purported video drew the attention of team of the Police and DSS, who stormed his palace in Ajao Estate earlier on Saturday morning. But before then, Nwajiagu had fled. He was later traced and arrested in a hotel at Ejigbo. He had been detained and is undergoing interrogation over his conduct.
