Alloy Agu, the goalkeeper coach of the Super Eagles has assured football loving Nigerians that Dele Ajiboye will perform at his optimal best as the Super Eagles file out against the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the absence of injured Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
The Super Eagles and the Atlas Lions are both playing the finals of the CHAN tournament for the first time and Agu is confident that the Nigerian team is capable of inflicting the pain of defeat on the host team of the tournament. He noted that he is very glad that the Eagles is blessed with quality goalkeepers and anyone of them can be in goal and will not give Nigerians any cause to be filled with anxiety.
“I know the qualities of Dele Ajiboye and I was never in doubt of what he can do in goal. Nigerians saw what he did against Sudan. He saved some goals bound targets and I am very confident that Ajiboye will be at his optimal best against Morocco in the final, ” Alloy Agu said.
Adding that “This team is very fortunate to have three good goalkeepers that can be relied upon in goal at anytime.”
The former Nigerian International goalkeeper , who also is now a Pastor said that everything that the team have achieved so far has the God factor , hard work, discipline and unity of purpose .
” We give God the glory for what the team has done so far in the tournament . It is hard work , discipline of the players and strong unity of purpose among the technical crew and the players. We sincerely pray that the good Lord will crown our efforts with success by lifting the cup in the final, ” he said.
