Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has confirmed Chief Sunday Ossai as the recognized President of Ohanaeze, Lagos State, as Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene has bowed out and left to lick his wounds for allegedly causing crisis with Court Consent Judgment.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was the outcome of stakeholders meeting held in Lagos State on Saturday, 16th March, 2024, chaired by the Ohanaeze President General Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, over the lingering crises in the State.
The details of the meeting, which was attended by the key Igbo stakeholders, emerged that Chief Iwuanyanwu made it clear that the recognized President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, by the Apex decision makers of Ohanaeze a.k.a Imeobi, is Chief Sunday Ossai and he does not have the power to remove him because he was elected by the Igbo people.
Chief Iwuanyanwu however, noted that Chief Solomon Aguene has capacity more than Chief Ossai but there is nothing he would do because Ossai was the people’s choice and was duly elected through the election conduct by Chief Aguene’s authorised electoral committee headed by Chief Oliver Akubueze.
He acknowledged the contributions of Chief Aguene and promised to work with him as an Igbo man and give him another responsibility in Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide as a form of soft landing as earlier reported by P.M.EXPRESS for his contributions as a former Ohanaeze President.
There was a mild drama at the meeting when Chief Aguene raised the issue of High Court Consent Judgment and insisted that he will remain Ohanaeze President till 2026.
Chief Iwuanyanwu was said to have told him that he did not object if there was consent judgment or not but that the recognized Ohanaeze President in Lagos State is Chief Ossai and he will not stop him from parading himself as Ohanaeze President based on the judgment he claimed to have obtained from Lagos State High Court.
It was at that point that Chief Solomon Aguene followers asked for one week for them to find a way forward for peace to reign in Lagos State.
The stakeholders, who were at the meeting, expressed satisfaction over the declaration of President Iwuanyanwu on the crises in Ohanaeze, Lagos State with the hope that peace will return to the Lagos chapter as the man said to be behind the crisis has finally been silenced.
Some of the stakeholders who attended the meeting included the authentic president, Chief Sunday Ossai, Chief Solomon Aguene, Chief Oliver Akubueze,  Chief John Uche,  Eze Chris Offia, Eze Uche Dimgba, Dr Mrs. Vivian Obi and many others.
The latest decision has thrown the supporters of Chief Solomon Aguene into disarray as they blamed him for going for negotiations without informing them until the information leaked in the media.
