Top personalities converged and witnessed the bestowing of awards as Mayor to two foremost Nigerians, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief (Dr) Solomon Ogbonna Aguene and the founder and Chairman of Chisco Group, Chief (Dr) Chidi Anyaegbu (Chisco) in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the award was given by the International Association of World Peace Advocates and was held on 25th March, 2024 at Villa Dome Event Centre, Ikoyi area of Lagos, for their outstanding performances for global peace.
Some of the top personalities who attended the event included the President of the association, Amb. Per Stafsen, who flew all the way from Denmark for the event, the wife of Ooni of Ife, Chief Mike Umeh, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze, who led other traditional rulers, captains of Industry, friends and wellwishers of Chief Aguene and Chief Anyaegbu including others.
Before the presentation of the awards, the association’s president, Amb. Stafsen, explained that the recipients were nominated for what they have done for global peace and by the awards as Mayor, it was more work for humanity. He stated that by the award, the recipients have been inducted into the hall of fame and they will continue to be Ambassadors for World Peace.
Chief Solomon Aguene, is the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Aguene Art Foundation and President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, has used his business connections and leadership position as Ohanaeze President to touch many lives especially the less privileged people in the society through philanthropic gestures over the years.
Chief Aguene has been described by many as a bridge builder and lover of peace and that was why he was given the chieftaincy title “Udochia Ndigbo”, which literally means let peace reign. He is a recipient of several awards both National and International and has capped it up with the Mayor of Peace Ambassador.
Dr Chidi Anyaegbu is a Nigerian businessman and transport mogul. He is the founder and Chairman of Chisco Group Ltd and Havila Air.
The Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State-born Chief Anyaegbu has attended several Management and Entrepreneurial institutions in France, USA, Brazil, Germany, and United Kingdom.
He was conferred with a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (Honoris Causa) by Penn State University, USA.
He ventured into business, started Chisco Transport Nigeria Ltd and subsequently diversified into oil and gas, hospitality, courier services, real estate and other sectors.
Chidi Anyaegbu founded “You Too Can Do It, a nongovernmental organization with the aim to assisting members of the society.
He also built the Chisco Building, a N78 million business faculty at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, for Transport Studies.
Chidi Anyaegbu is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (International) London. He is also an honorary fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Nigeria. He was conferred with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic ( MFR) and the Distinguished Leadership Award by the Nigerian Police Community Relations Committee, Zone 7.
Chief Anyaegbu is a receiver of the National Merit Award in Transport at the Institute of International Auditors of Nigeria. He is conferred with the traditional title of Okeiyi Amichi and now the global Lord Mayor of Peace Ambassador.
The Award takeaway honour given to the duo as recognition were a United Nation Red international Passport, UN Identity Cards that will give them access to travel to any country without visa, Certificate of Award and others.
