The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, has reacted and debunked the publication ascribed to him saying that Ndigbo were not allowed to vote in the Local Government elections that held in Lagos State on Saturday July 12.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene explained that he was erroneously misquoted on what he said during an interview and stated that what he  actually said was that he was not happy that Ndigbo did not participate in the elective positions across the State during the election.

Aguene stated that he had no reason to be against the Governor of Lagos State,  Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his party the APC in the State, ably led by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because they have accommodated the Igbo in the state over the years.

He further explained that what he actually said was that there are so many Ndigbo in APC and they should have been considered for appointments in various positions by the Party in the State.

He dismissed the publication trending on the social media which drew reactions from Ndigbo In APC led by Chief Joe Igbokwe.

He noted that some Igbo people are in APC and he was only soliciting that some of them should be given positions by the Party as members of the party including leaders like Chief Joe Igbokwe, Chris Ekwilo, Baba Tata among others who are qualified for any position in APC.

He commended the Party for nominating Igbo woman in Ojo Local Government and encouraged the Party to do more to accommodate Ndigbo in the State in various positions.

“Let it be on record that I didn’t say that the Igbo that are resident in Lagos State are denied the opportunity to vote. Ndigbo in Lagos State don’t have any issue with the ruling Party and the Lagos State Government “Aguene stated.
