The President Emeritus of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, has commended Igbo stakeholders across Nigeria for their massive support for Chief Ifeanyi Odii’s 2027 governorship ambition in Ebonyi State.
Chief Aguene made the commendation while reacting to the growing momentum behind Chief Odii since he emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2027 election.
According to him, the wave of support has cut across several states including Delta, Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi. He described the development as a reflection of the confidence Ndigbo have in Chief Odii’s leadership capacity.
“I am not surprised by the massive support Chief Ifeanyi Odii is receiving. He is a humble, honest and God-fearing man who has consistently shown concern for the welfare of the people over the years,” Chief Aguene said.
He praised Chief Odii for his track record in philanthropy and community service, noting that his intervention in education, health and youth empowerment has touched many lives in Ebonyi and beyond.
Chief Aguene further described Chief Odii as a leader with rare organizational skills and exposure. “Chief Odii is so organized that you would think he lived abroad all his life. His approach to planning, structure and execution is world-class,” he stated.
He said Ebonyi people need a leader who understands modern governance and who can attract investment, create jobs and unite the people. According to him, Chief Odii possesses all the qualities needed to drive that vision.
The Ohanaeze chieftain also acknowledged the performance of the former Governor of Ebonyi State, now Honourable Minister of Works, and said the state had made progress under his administration. However, he expressed confidence that Chief Odii would take over the structure Umahi built to move the State to greater heights.
“Ebonyi has seen good leadership before, but with Chief Ifeanyi Odii, we will see purposeful leadership that is people-centered, transparent and result-driven,” Chief Aguene noted.
He called on Ebonyi people both at home and in the diaspora to rally behind Chief Odii, stressing that his emergence would bring more development, peace and inclusive governance to the state.
“Chief Ifeanyi Odii is not a noise maker. He is a silent achiever. He does not talk much but his works speak for him. That is the kind of leader Ebonyi needs in 2027,” he added.
Chief Aguene concluded by urging Igbo stakeholders to sustain their support and mobilization efforts for Chief Odii, saying his governorship would mark a new chapter of growth, unity and prosperity for Ebonyi State.
He enjoined  Ebonyi people to forget sentiment of Party affiliation and support Chief Odii for the interest of the State.
