Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson Laid To Rest Amid Eulogies & Tears

All Progressives Congress Chieftain, the immediate past APC South West Zonal Women Leader and Member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Chief (Mrs.) Titilola Olukemi Nelson (Yeyesewa of Lagos), who died on Sunday 17th July, 2022, at the age of 66, has been laid to rest amid eulogies and tears.

The Yeyesewa of Lagos was buried yesterday Thursday 25th August, 2022.

Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson’s final journey started on Tuesday 23rd August with a Valedictory session held by the three Legislative Houses, which make up the Ikeja Federal Constituency. It was followed by an evening of songs and tributes, which was held in her honour same Tuesday at The Haven, close to the Golf Club, G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos. On Wednesday 24th August, a Christian Wake Service, which attracted a huge crowd from far and near, was also held in her honour at 4pm at the same venue.

The funeral service for Yeyesewa, who was also a former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation and Job Creation in Lagos State, was held on Thursday 25th August, 2022, at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos at 9:00am.

The Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral Church auditorium, which was filled to full capacity with overflow outside the Church, had dignitaries from far and wide consisting of political bigwigs, captains of industry, former and serving Government functionaries, associates, loyalists, friends and family, who came to pay their last respect to the Yeyesewa of Lagos.

Aside her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends from different works of life, in the audience were Kings, White Cap Chiefs representing the Oba of Lagos State, Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gov Dapo Abiodun, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Gov Simon Lalong, Senator Remi Tinubu, Hon Mrs. Hamzat, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Chief Funsho Ologunde, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, Senator Omisore, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Hon Folajimi Lai-Mohammed, Son-in law, Mr. Oluwole Popoola, Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Chief Dele Momodu, APC Lagos Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, Hon Lola Akande, Dr Mojeed Balogun, Hon Dotun Olakanle, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, Kenny Saint Best, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Alhaji Dally-Adeokun, Mrs. Olusola Kokumo, Prince Oluranti Olufon, among other respected dignitaries.
After the funeral service, the motorcade left Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral for a private interment.
Entertainment of guests and dignitaries followed after the interment at Harbour Point, 4 Wilmot Point Road, Victoria Island, Lagos.
