The former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, has called on the people of Imo State to rally behind Senator Martin Agbaso ahead of his governorship ambition.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene, also known as Udo Chia Ndigbo, described Senator Agbaso as a leader with proven capacity, integrity, and honesty.
According to the community leader, those qualities are urgently needed in the governance for the welfare of the people.
Chief Aguene explained that Senator Martin Agbaso is a trusted and experienced leader, who can unite the people and drive sustainable development across all sectors.
He stated that Chief Agbaso has proven integrity as a politician in Nigeria, with no criminal record. He added that the senator served Imo people with humility and did not use his position to intimidate anyone over the years.
“Agbaso has passion for the welfare of the people, and that is why he is described as the man from the Negro American community. He is a wealthy man that will lift Imo State just like the late former Governor of Imo State, Chief Sam Mbakwe,” Chief Aguene said.
“Senator Martin Agbaso is not a stranger to service. He has shown capacity in public office and in private life. He is a man that can be trusted by Imo people because his record speaks for him,” Chief Aguene posited.
The community leader noted that integrity and honesty must remain the foundation of leadership if Imo State must overcome challenges in infrastructure, education, health, and youth empowerment.
Chief Aguene recalled that Senator Agbaso’s contributions to national development and his relationship with Imo communities over the years have positioned him as a bridge-builder across party and community lines.
He urged Imo citizens, both at home and in the diaspora, to look beyond party affiliations and focus on competence, credibility, and character when choosing their next governor.
“Capacity without integrity is dangerous. Honesty without capacity is ineffective. But when a man has both, like Senator Agbaso, then Imo people should support him to take the state forward,” he added.
Chief Aguene further emphasized that trust is the currency of leadership, and Senator Agbaso has earned that trust through years of service and commitment to the welfare of the people.
He also called on traditional rulers, youth groups, women leaders, and civil society organizations to engage in peaceful mobilization and voter education ahead of the governorship election.
Chief Aguene expressed confidence that with Senator Martin Agbaso at the helm, Imo State would witness transparent governance, accountability, and people-centered policies that reflect the hopes and aspirations of the masses.
As political activities gather momentum in the state, Chief Solomon Aguene’s endorsement adds weight to the growing calls for Senator Martin Agbaso to declare his governorship ambition formally and receive the mandate of Imo people.
Chief Aguene stated that his worries and that of the good people of Imo State is if Chief Martin Agbaso will even accept to contest for the Governorship because he has passed the level and he prayed that he should accept to run.
