The President of Ohanaeze Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, has warned the Igbo to beware of individuals or groups, who parade themselves as elders and founders because such does not exist as he sacked John Paul Nwaka  and appointed Chief Calistus Odemena as new Chairman of all the Chairmen of the 57 Local Government areas in the State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene stated this at the Ohanaeze Secretariat, Surulere area of Lagos, over the purported claims by Chief John Uche, Eze Christian  Nwachukwu, Kalu Uguru and their cohorts over the plans of Ohanaeze to conduct  election in the Local Government areas in the state.

Chief Aguene, who holds the title, Udo Chia Ndigbo, explained that Chief Uche over the years was no more a member of Ohanaeze after he was suspended over alleged misconduct in both by Ohanaeze Lagos State and Worldwide.
He stated that Chief Uche cannot speak for the Igbo or Eze  Nwachukwu, who no longer attend both Ohanaeze and council  of traditional leaders meetings because he was asked to render  account of his stewardship for the years he was chairman of the Council Ezendigbo, Lagos State.

“Somebody, who is not a member of Ohanaeze, cannot dabble into the affairs of Ohanaeze even while claiming to be leading a group called Elders Stakeholders and founding members, which  does not exist and recruiting Eze Nwachukwu, who was yet to render account of Ndi Eze and others as members” Chief Aguene said.

On the conduct of Ohanaeze Lagos Local Government’s election, Chief Aguene explained that he has already done the needful by  the inaugurating of the electoral committee headed by the respected former President of Ohanaeze and chairman Ohanaeze Council of Elders, Chief Oliver Akubueze and they have been working day and night in order to ensure that credible elections are conducted in all the 57 Local Councils in the State.
He stated the former Chairman of all chairmen in the Local Governments, Chief John Paul Nwaka, was removed and replaced with Chief Odemena because he was no longer  working for the interest of Ndigbo rather for personal interest and that of those working against the interests of Ndigbo in Lagos State.

Aguene reiterated that the forthcoming election will be  conducted with the Ohanaeze Lagos State  bylaws and Ohanaeze has resolved that the electoral committee should  screen and bring credible candidates to contest for various  positions in the Local Government areas in the state.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that 2018 will remain memorable in the minds of the Igbo, when Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene emerged as President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos. A lot of people believed he would toe the normal path of his predecessors. But today, he has changed the narrative. Chief Aguene, popularly  known as Udo Chia Ndigbo, has gained more popularity both home and abroad as Ohanaeze has garnered more respect under the leadership of Chief Solomon Ogbonna.

Ohanaeze Lagos State is now run with more human face. He has brought the sociocultural group to limelight; connecting it to people that matters in the society and the host community with the likes of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odi and many more, who have given the group a new face via Chief Solomon, whom they trusted to deliver the dividends of good leadership, which he has actually done since taking over as President.

A peep into his leadership style revealed how he values unity and human empowerment through the support of Lagos State Government and Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odi, who are contributing immensely to the upkeep of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos. So, Igbo indigenes, non indigenes with the host community, Yorubas have benefited from the present leadership. No wonder the Igbo in Lagos State are giving him more support on daily  basis stressing the need for consolidation of the Ohanaeze  in Lagos State.
