This may not be the best of times for Chief Sunday Ossai, who allegedly gave huge sums of money running into millions to members of the Igbo cabals to make him President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State and the whole thing has now turned to be a hoax.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the members of the cabals, having obtained the money and declared him the President in the Kangaroo election, he then realized that there was a subsisting Court judgment in favour of the President of Ohanaeze, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, which gave him four years to stay in the office.
After the purported election, Chief Sunday Ossai has had no access to the Ohanaeze Secretariat at Surulere area of Lagos and resorted to be having meetings in various bars and lounges in Lagos State in the place of Ohanaeze Secretariat.
An embittered Chief Ossai was recently heard lamenting and telling his close associates that he did not bargain for what has happened after spending huge sums of money for the position  with all the promises made to him by the members of the cabals to remove the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Solomon Aguene, which has failed.
The latest antics being used by the members of the cabals is to induce towns unions with huge amounts of money in order to endorse Chief Ossai as President of Ohanaeze. But the major challenge they are facing now is how to explain to the leaders of the town unions why they are having meetings at various bars and lounges in Ikeja and other places instead of the Secretariat.
Another challenge is the massive support and followership that Chief Aguene has, which has made it more difficult to convince the town unions leaders, who has ignored Chief Ossai to his fate.
This was disclosed by the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, who described Ossai’s action as an act of desperation which will lead him nowhere because Ndigbo in the state have rejected both him and the members of the cabals and moved on to the next level.
Chief Aguene explained that he never went to Court but by divine intervention he was asked to remain in office in the next four years. He has since settled down focusing on how to start the project of completing the Igbo House, which he wants to build for Ohanaeze in Lagos State.
“I am aware that Chief Ossai was giving town unions in the State money in order to endorse him. He equally brought media houses to report that he has been endorsed. But while their propaganda was going on in the media, the Igbo were at Calabar Hall for the General Assembly meeting championing their cause to move Ohanaeze to the next level” he said.
Chief Aguene warned the Igbo in Lagos State to beware of those characters, who have the sole aim of working against the Lagos State Government and the ruling Party in the State in a bid to cause ethnic violence.
He explained that Ndigbo have Investments in Lagos State and should work in harmony with the owners of the land in order to maintain peace and order while doing their businesses.
He reiterated the Igbo commitment to support the Lagos State Government to implement their policies and abide by the laws of the State for peaceful coexistence in the State.
