Citizens Of Amurri Community Setting The Pace For Peace & Development With Year Of Impact

In a remarkable display of unity and dedication, the Citizens of Amurri for Peace and Development in Enugu State,  a community‑driven organization founded one year ago by 23 illustrious sons of Amurri, continues to champion peace, unity, and sustainable development within their beloved community.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Chairman of the group, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, explained the purpose and mission and what they have achieved within one year of its existence.
It includes:
Vision & Mission:
– Vision: A harmonious and prosperous Amurri where peace prevails and development thrives.
– Mission:To actively contribute to the socio‑economic development of Amurri, promote peaceful coexistence, and collaborate with traditional rulers, community development associations, and security agencies for lasting progress.
Key Achievements (Within One Year)
– Enhanced Community Security:* Donated essential equipment to bolster the effectiveness of the neighborhood watch.
– Stakeholder Engagements:Conducted fruitful discussions with community leaders to assess and address Amurri’s needs.
-Homage to HRH King Charles Egbo Nwoye (Ph.D.), Obioha II of Amurri: Engaged in constructive talks on advancing peace and development in Amurri.
– Nneche Bridge Project (Obunagu Umuonyia, Enugu): Successfully reconstructed and expanded the bridge; commissioning is scheduled for 31st  December 2025.
– National Advocacy:Presented Amurri’s developmental needs to Honorable members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
– International Outreach: Communicated with the United Nations on Amurri’s potentials and challenges.
– State Government Engagement:Wrote to the Executive Governor regarding the deplorable state of Amurri’s roads.
Future Plans
– Secure funding for structural projects.
– Promote youth empowerment through skills‑acquisition and capacity‑building programmes.
– Collaborate with development partners to bring sustainable change to Amurri.
