The Civil Liberty Organization, CLO, Anambra State chapter, has raised alarm and called on Anambra State Government to marshal out strategic plan towards curtailing the spread of the dreadful and deadly pandemic ravaging both financial, spiritual, health and wealth of the global community.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as posited in joint press statement issued by Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme and Chidi Mbah Chairman and Secretary respectively.
CLO lamented the outrageous disregard with great disdain for the coronavirus pandemic.
“It is most disheartening and despicable that despite unprecedented campaigns, sensitization and education of citizens for strict observation of the Covid-19 prevention protocols are observed in breach.”
“Pertinently, we made a passionate appeal to Governor Willie Obiano to urgently return to the country and summon emergency health summit comprising critical stakeholders which should include Nigeria Medical Association, religious, traditional, civil society organisations and markets leaders to proffers solution towards curtailing increments in the spread of coronavirus, which is the greatest and worst threat to humanity.”
“Our state is very religious and church leaders have tremendous influence on their adherents as such they have inevitable and indispensable roles to play for us to terminate covid-19 or it will exterminate us.”
“Ignorance is the greatest impediment towards the stoppage of Covid-19. Conceited efforts should be made towards aggressive enlightenment of the citizens on the horrendous and detestable covid-19 pandemic and ineluctable need to prevent it’s escalation.”
“We reiterate our earlier appeal to Gov Willie Obiano to spare no efforts towards eradication of illegal revenue agents, touting and unauthorised task forces in the state that act with impunity as if we are in a state of nature in which the might is right.”
“We equally reiterate our call for political gladiators to play the game according to the rules in order to douse political tension in the state in view of fast approaching November 6 Governorship election in the state” the CLO concluded.
