A 28-year old company security man, Abubakar Haruna has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for stealing products worth N5m. The incident happened at JMG Company located at 7 Segun Ifiti Street in Ikotun, Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Haruna was employed by the management to protect copper wires worth the amount with a certain monthly salary. However, it turned out that Haruna had another motive why he went for the job.

The Kaduna State-born Haruna reportedly engaged the service of a truck driver, loaded the products, sold them and returned back to his duty post. It was gathered that the next day, the management discovered that the products were missing and summoned Haruna but he claimed that he did not know anything about the goods.

The matter was reported to the police at Ikotun Division and Haruna was arrested and detained at the station. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that during investigation, information leaked that Haruna brought a truck in the night, loaded the goods and took the products to where he sold them. He reportedly  confessed but claimed that the goods were not up to the amount the company had claimed.

He was arraigned before Magistrates court sitting in Ejigbo for conspiracy and stealing under the Criminal Code. He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 27th of September, 2017.
