The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Sunday 21st December, 2025, attended the prestigious chieftaincy conferment ceremony of Barrister Seyi Tinubu, held at the Alaafin of Oyo Palace, Oyo Town.
Barrister Seyi Tinubu was formally conferred with the revered chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yoruba Land by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I (Elewu Etu, Iku Baba Yeye), the Alaafin of Oyo, in a ceremony steeped in rich Yoruba culture, tradition, and heritage.
The Ikeja Council Chairman, Dauda attended the historic event alongside other prominent political leaders and colleagues, led by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.
The ceremony attracted a wide array of dignitaries from across the country, including traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry, and well-wishers, underscoring the significance of the honour bestowed.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Dauda described the conferment as well-deserved, noting that the title of Okanlomo of Yoruba Land reflects Barrister Seyi Tinubu’s commitment to youth empowerment, social development, and the promotion of Yoruba values and unity.
He congratulated Barrister Seyi Tinubu on the honour and prayed for wisdom, strength, and greater opportunities to serve the Yoruba nation and humanity at large.
The ceremony further reinforced the enduring relevance of Yoruba traditional institutions in recognizing leadership, service, and contributions to societal development.
