The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of High Chief Oluwatoyin Bajela-Oko-Osi, the Baale of Onilekere.
In a condolence message, the Chairman described the late traditional ruler as a committed community leader whose dedication to peace, unity, and grassroots development left an enduring legacy in Onilekere and the entire Ikeja Local Government Area.
Comrade Dauda extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Onilekere community, traditional institution, and all residents mourning the loss. He prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the late Baale’s shortcomings and grants him eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
The Chairman also urged members of the community to honour the memory of the late Baale by upholding the values of peace, harmony, and selfless service that he exemplified during his lifetime.
According to the family, the Janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) for the late Baale was held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the burial ground of Momodu Moshesa Onilekere Central Mosque, Onilekere, Cement Bus Stop, off Abeokuta Expressway, Lagos.
Comrade Dauda prayed that Almighty Allah grants the family, friends, and the entire Onilekere community the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
