Comrade Dauda Dedicates Eko Mi Award To Late Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson & Good People Of Ikeja.

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has been honoured with the prestigious Eko Mi Award for his exemplary leadership and outstanding performance in office.

 

The award was presented at a colourful ceremony held at the MUSON Centre, Lagos, where individuals making remarkable contributions to the development of Lagos State were recognised.

 

Other awardees included: The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Member, House of Representative, Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon James Faleke, HRM, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Former, Member, Lagos House of Assembly, Hon Segun Olulade Eleniyan, Chairman, lkosi, LCDA, Princess Sambiat Ablmbola Bada among others.

 

Receiving the award, Comrade Dauda thanked the organisers for acknowledging the achievements of his administration just one year after assuming office, saying the recognition would inspire him to do more.

 

Highlighting the achievements of his administration under the I.K.E.J.A. Agenda Dauda said the infrastructure pillar has delivered significant results, including the construction and rehabilitation of about eight roads, extensive drainage projects and the renovation of public schools across the local government.

 

He added that his administration has prioritised education and youth development through the Back-to-School initiative, educational support programmes, entrepreneurship and business empowerment schemes, while work is ongoing on an ICT Academy to equip young people with digital skills for the future.

He reaffirmed his commitment to responsive and people-centred governance, assuring residents that his administration would continue to implement programmes and projects that improve their quality of life.

Dauda dedicated the award to the people of Ikeja Local Government, including the management, staff and political leadership of the council, while paying a glowing tribute to his late political leader and mentor, Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson (Yeyesewa) whose legacy, he said, continues to inspire purposeful leadership.
