The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), heartily congratulates all Muslim faithful in Ikeja, Lagos State, and across Nigeria on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, 1448 AH.
As the Muslim Ummah marks the beginning of a new Hijrah year, the Council Chairman urges residents to reflect on the values of faith, sacrifice, patience (Sabr), compassion, and righteousness which the occasion symbolizes. He noted that the Islamic New Year serves as a reminder of the importance of personal renewal, community development, peaceful coexistence, and unwavering trust in Almighty Allah.
Comrade Dauda called on residents of Ikeja to continue fostering unity, mutual respect, and understanding irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political affiliations, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
“As we begin the year 1448 AH, Chairman AKOD pray that Almighty Allah fills our hearts with Sabr, our homes with Barakah, and our lives with his divine guidance and mercy. May this new year brings renewd hope, prosperity, good health and progress to every family in Ikeja and beyond.
