The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), hosted leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikeja to an interfaith Iftar and breaking of fast at the Marriage Registry Hall of the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat.

The gathering, which is the third of its kind during the ongoing holy month, brought together APC Apex Leaders and party members from across the six wards of Ikeja Local Government. The event provided an opportunity for Muslims observing the Ramadan fast to break their fast alongside Christian faithful in a spirit of unity, love and togetherness.

In his exhortation, Alhaji Yisawu Bature from Ward C charged attendees on the importance of love, unity and harmony, describing them as the bedrock of progress in any society. He noted that these values were strongly emphasized by the Messenger of God during his lifetime and remain essential for peaceful coexistence and community development.

Speaking during the gathering, the Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda, explained that the initiative was conceived to bring Muslims and Christians together in the same space, emphasizing that both faiths ultimately worship the same God. He called on members of the political class to embrace love, tolerance and unity, noting that the people are looking up to leaders for guidance in building stronger communities, a progressive local government, and a prosperous state and nation.

The Chairman also expressed deep appreciation to the Apex Leaders of the party for their continued support, guidance and direction, which he described as the foundation of the progress Ikeja is witnessing both in governance and within the party. He equally commended the APC executives at the Local Government and Ward levels for their unwavering cooperation and urged them to sustain the collective spirit, noting that governance and party building require teamwork.

Present at the interfaith Iftar and breaking of fast were the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the APC Ikeja LGA Chairman, Hon. Adetoro Adebowale; Prince Olufun; Princess Obaseki; the APC State Assistant Legal Officer, Barr. Debola Ladigbolu; Hon. Olasoji; the Ikeja Local Government Legislators led by Hon. Ogunseye Rasheed Adisa; Otunba Adebola Amure; Alhaja Ogun; Apostle Olowoporoku; Chief Mobolaji Ganiyu (Soku Sembe); Alhaji Oshinberu; Chief Agbosasa; Engr. Kehinde Akinola; the APC Ikeja LGA Youth Leader, Mr. Oladotun Omotuyi; APC Ward B Chairman, Mr. Ayo Adeyeri; the APC Ikeja LGA Women Leader, Mrs. Arubo, and many other party stalwarts too numerous to mention.

The evening ended on a note of prayers for continued peace, unity and progress in Ikeja Local Government, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
