The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today carried out an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing link bridge construction connecting the Onilekere and Onipetesi communities.
During the inspection, Comrade Dauda expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work executed so far by the contractor. He commended the level of professionalism displayed and urged the construction firm to sustain the momentum and ensure timely delivery of the project, so residents of both communities can begin to enjoy the full benefits of the bridge without delay.
The Ikeja Council Chairman also appreciated the good people of Onilekere and Onipetesi for their cooperation and peaceful collaboration with the contractor, noting that community support remains vital to the successful execution of developmental projects. He assured residents that upon completion, the bridge will significantly enhance accessibility, ease movement, stimulate local commerce, and promote economic growth within the axis.
Describing the project as one of the landmark achievements of his administration, Comrade Dauda stated that delivering such a critical infrastructure within one year in office is unprecedented in the history of Ikeja Local Government. He reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership, infrastructural renewal, and people-oriented governance under the Ikeja Agenda.
