The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday led his Constituents to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he hosted the 7th and final edition of his Interfaith Breaking of Fast/Iftar series.

He equally used the occasion to bring together artisans, market leaders, and members of the media in a remarkable display of unity and inclusiveness.

The event witnessed the presence of Iyalojas and their representatives from markets across Ikeja, executives of the Joint Association of Artisans, and representatives from over 25 media organizations.

In his address, the Ikeja LG Chairman, Comrade Dauda, emphasized the importance of unity, love, and peaceful coexistence as the foundation for sustainable development and societal progress. He highlighted the significance of collective responsibility in nation-building, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

A major highlight of the gathering was the Chairman’s appreciation of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his administration’s commitment to strengthening governance at the grassroots through Local Government financial autonomy.

He noted that Lagos State Local Governments and LCDAs have continued to benefit from this progressive framework, enabling effective service delivery and impactful governance. He also called for continued prayers for the nation, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and President Tinubu.

Spiritual leaders present offered prayers for the peace, stability, and progress of Nigeria and Ikeja. Pastor Israel, leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ikeja, led prayers for the nation, the President, the Governor, and the Chairman, while Ustaz Akeem Olaleye, a respected Muslim cleric, offered fervent supplications for Nigeria, President Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu, James Abiodun Faleke, Comrade Dauda and the entire Ikeja community.

Representatives of the Iyalojas, artisans, and the media delivered goodwill messages, commending the Council Chairman for his impactful leadership and inclusive governance style. They praised his ability to foster unity across religious and cultural lines, describing his administration as people-centered and progressive. Mr. Musbau of Gazelle News also applauded the Chairman’s media team for their efficiency and proactive engagement, which has enhanced the visibility of the administration.

Also in attendance were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Ogunseye Rasheed Adisa; and other party leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
