The National President of Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, who also doubles as Chairman BOT Coalition of Niger Delta Youth Leaders, Most Snr Comrade Emeni Ibe, has commended His Excellency, Chief.Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, over the donation of N1billion to Orashi flood victims to cushion the effect of the ravaging flood in the region.
Comrade Emeni thanked God for giving Rivers people a proactive Governor, who always cares and listens to the people at all time.
He therefore, called on the Committee saddled with the responsibility to bring succour to the people to make judicious use of the fund and ensure it serves the purpose for which the money is meant for.
The President General of Orashi National Congress expressed sadness over the total neglect by the Rivers State Flood Management Committee, which visited only some parts of the areas recently and for their refusal to access the affected communities in some other parts of Orashi region given the fact that the Traditional Ruler and his Council of Chiefs were waiting for their arrival.
Comrade Emeni said, “It was noted that half of Orashi communities were affected and submerged by the ravaging flood, which thereby led to the loss of farm produce, houses and properties worth millions of Naira.
“We therefore, call on the team to revisit the four Orashi Local Government areas to complete their tour to the flood affected communities in the entire Orashi Region for proper assessment.”
