The Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, led by Eze (Sir) Ephraim Nnaemeka, has passed a vote of confidence on the Igbo Speaking Community’s BOT led by Dr Jonathan Nnaji and cautioned those attacking Dr Nnaji over the BOT position to stop henceforth.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Nnaemeka (Okosisi) stated this on the heels of recent campaign of calumny against Dr Nnaji by some individuals who are not members of the Council of Ezendigbo and stakeholders of the Igbo Speaking community.

He stated that the Council is very much aware that the BOT is still intact and functional with five board members performing their roles in line with the Constitution of the Igbo Speaking Community..

He also stated that the Council is aware that there are some members of the BOT who has passed on and the Governing Board is making conscious efforts to replace those members, which was delayed due to the crisis in the Igbo Speaking Community over the years.

Eze Nnaemeka, who is also Ezendigbo in Aboru, reiterated that the Council is fully standing with the BOT that any Eze crowned during the Igbo Speaking community crises must be profiled by the BOT to known if such person was properly screened and met the conditions before he was crowned Ezendigbo in Lagos State.

He explained that there are standard guidelines and conditions to be met before the Igbo Speaking Community will crown any Ezendigbo, which includes that such person must provide letters from their traditional ruler and President General of his town union.

Also the person must be screened with addresses verified and means of livelihood ascertained before such person is crowned Ezendigbo and the Community must know and have the file of such person in their profile.

“Any person who doesn’t subject himself to such conditions for clearance from the BOT should not be considered as Eze” he said.

Eze Nnaemeka stated that there is no parallel Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State and if any group or groups are parading themselves as Council of Ndieze and is not recognized by the BOT,  such groups are fake and members of the public should beware of such groups.

Nnaemeka explained that the BOT is the custodian of the Igbo Speaking Community and any individual or group who cannot respect the BOT and claim to belong to the Igbo Speaking Community should think twice and should not be considered as members.
