This is not the best of times for the consent judgment president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, following the declaration by the President General Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu that Chief Sunday Ossai is the authentic Ohanaeze Ndigbo President in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that barely few hours after the declaration, the two factions of Lagos State Council of Ndieze led by Eze Chris Offia and Eze Chika Nwokedi have finally dumped him and declared their support for Chief Sunday Ossai.

This came to bear following the meeting held on Sunday, 18th March, 2024, at the Eze Nicolas Njoku’s palace in Ejigbo,  Lagos, where Ndieze led by Eze Nwokedi, converged to meet with Chief Iwuanyanwu over his visit to restore peace in Ohanaeze, Lagos State.

Though Chief Iwuanyanwu disappointed them and sent his Public Relations Officer to represent him, the Ndieze present at the meeting publicly endorsed the declaration of Iwuanyanwu and declared support for Chief Sunday Ossai, who was present at the meeting.

Also Eze Offia, who was present and led some Ndieze to the stakeholders meeting where Iwuanyanwu rejected Aguene as Ohanaeze president, gave their support to Chief Ossai and commended Chief Iwuanyanwu for finally bringing lasting peace to Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.

Eze Offia stated that it was time for Ndigbo to come together to pursue common goals of peace and love among themselves in order to move forward as the crises in Ohanaeze has finally been resolved.

While Chief Aguene was still in shock over what has happened to him within 24 hours despite his efforts to lobby Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to recognize him as president, his followers are currently in disarray as many have since deserted him after his secret negotiations with Iwuanyanwu were exposed on the social media.

Some of Aguene’s supporters were still in shock on how the whole thing setting crumbled within hours and were said to be in dilemma on what to do next. They do not know if Chief Ossai will accept them or not but some of them have started to send emissaries to meet with Ossai.

Meanwhile, Chief Ossai may be facing a big challenge if eventually Chief Aguene hands over the secretariat located at 19A James Robinson Street, Surulere area of Lagos, because of the issue of unpaid rent.

It was gathered the monthly allowances coming from the Lagos State Government were said to have stopped coming because of the crisis and dabbling into politics by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.

The money so realized from the Ohanaeze election has since been shared among the actors as such there is no money to renew the rent unless Chief Aguene decides to borrow money which he is unlikely as sources told P.M.EXPRESS.
