A 7-year old marriage between one Abiodun Ojeyemi and his estranged wife, Omolara has been dissolved following allegations of adultery by Abiodun that the pastor of a Celestial church was sleeping with his wife.
The marriage was formally dissolved by the Mapo Customary Court, Ibadan in Oyo State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the pastor who allegedly Impregnated Omolara who was married with two kids, followed her to the court to ensure that the marriage was dissolved.
Omolara had petitioned the court to dissolve her union with Abiodun over alleged threat to her life . The President of the court Chief Ademola Odunade held that the society was fast undergoing unprecedented decay in morality, especially the rate at which adultery was ruining marriages.
“In the interest of peaceful living, the union between Omolara and Abiodun has ceased to be. Henceforth you Abiodun shall take custody of the two children produced by the union.” the President of the court pronounced.
Mr Abiodun, a staff of Nigeria Breweries narrated his ordeal and said that his wife Omolara was an unfaithful and unrepentant woman. He said he did not know that she was just pretending to love him but was having affairs with the pastor. He narrated that she always went for vigils in the church or for special prayers but he did not know they were just opportunities for her to meet with her pastor lover.
