COVID-19: Ambassador Ezewele Donates Truck of Noodles, Bags Of Rice To Igando, Ikotun Residents

It was indeed great relief for some residents of Igando and Ikotun areas of Lagos after a philanthropist and social commentator, Ambassador Cyril Ezewele, doled out truck load of noodles, bags of rice, sanitizers and face masks as palliatives to cushion the effect of the lockdown over Covid-19.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the items were shared to the less privileged people who had been struggling to survive since the lockdown.
While giving the palliative items, Ezewele said that the situation called for assistance to the less privileged and giving back to the society as the Government cannot do it alone.He noted that though the Government, especially the Lagos State, is trying their best for prevent the spread of the virus but observed that the population of the State posed serious challenge as it seems there is no much impact on the people.
He also noted the bane of corruption may hinder the success of the fight against the spread of the virus as government officials see the whole thing as opportunity to loot public fund.
“What they are sharing is not real; many of the items including money may have ended in private accounts because of greed to oppress the less privileged in the society” he said.
On compliance, Ambassador Ezewele noted that there was no full compliance by the people due to ignorance and religious beliefs as some  people even think that there is  nothing like Coronavirus.He appealed to the people to maintain social distance, regular use of sanitizers and regular taking of vitamins that will boost immunity of body in order to resist the virus.
He said that the post-lockdown will definitely affect the economy of Nigeria and urged the people to prepare their minds for future challenge due to the collapse of economy and endemic corruption that will worsen the situation.
He also appealed to privileged people in the society to come out to assist and make sacrifices to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged in the society.
