CSR: BetKing Splashes N10m On Young Nigerians To Start Businesses

Barely few weeks it made it ways into Nigerian gaming market, Betking, the new sports betting platform in town, is already putting the welfare of young Nigerians as its priority.

The company, through its Co-founder, Adekunle Adeniji, said that as part of BetKing’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS), in 2018, the sum of N10 million has been set aside to empower young Nigerian entrepreneurs to engage in various kinds of businesses of their choices.

According to Adeniji, the businesses maybe existing ones that need funds for expansion or new ones entirely.

“At BetKing, we want to support and encourage entrepreneurship in Nigerian youth for them to grow economically and be useful to the society. We are not just operating as a business enterprise, but we want to positively impact and add values to the life of the people. We strong belief that every Nigerian, irrespective of status, has the potentials to be a king, ” he said at a twin-event to officially launch BetKing sports betting platform in Lagos on Thursday and unveiling of Nigerian football legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha as Brand Ambassador.

Adeniji further disclosed that every Nigerian will be given the opportunity of getting the N10m entrepreneurship fund, as selection of the lucky 10 will be thrown open and transparent.

“We are going to set up a board to oversee this important CSR initiative of BetKing. We will open a website where prospective applicants would submit their proposals for considerations, at the end of which the successful 10 young Nigerians would be picked,” he said.

On monitoring, Adeniji assured that there would be effective monitoring of how the 10 young entrepreneurs spend the money as there will be follow up from the company. “They will be opened to mentoring,” he remarked.

He said that BetKing would also focus on contributing to Nigerian society. By creating over 4000 jobs in 12 months through its agency network across the country, adding that BetKing will be offering all Nigerians the opportunities to become kingmakers.
