A Lagos-based businessman, Olanrewaju Rasheed Sulaimon has narrated his ordeals in the hands of cultists.

Unsuspecting Sulaimon joined a group who he thought was a friendly association that empowered members financially only for thing to turn against him that cost the life of his wife and made him to be on the run for his dear life.

“I am a businessman, specializing in furniture making and sales and used to be resident at 48, Simpson Street, Adekunle, Yaba Lagos state of Nigeria. I am an easy-going family man with a wife and three daughters. In the course of my business, I interact with many people.

“Sometimes in early 2022, a group of people known to me invited me to join their association for they assured me quicker financial success and power. Initially, they loaned me some money to improve my business and after some months I repaid the loan.

“However, on a deeper investigation of the group I discovered that they are involved in diabolical rituals and that they function as blood cult.

“Due to my own strong Islamic religious leaning and my descent Yoruba cultural upbringing, I decided to sever my relationship with the group.

“Unknown to me then, this action of mine did not go down well with the leader of the group who goes by the name Segun Dagger. Since then, he has been threatening me with serious repercussions, claiming that the loan they gave me help to stabilize my business and as such I cannot abandon the group,” Sulaimon narrated to P.M. EXPRESS.

“At a point, I made a move to report the matter to the police, but a friend of mine in the neighborhood who was close to some police officers warned that I should not on the strength of the fact Dagger has many loyalists even in the police and also he is kinsman of All Progressive Congress (APC), the ruling political party in Nigeria and in Lagos State. That if I report the incident, it would even worsen my case. It was at that point that I decided to run for my dear life. For some time, I went underground, but Dagger and his boys went after my family and got my wife, Sulaimon Monisola Esther murdered in a circumstance that begged for many questions on 20 December 2023.

“My wife was buried the following day on 21 December, while my children have been taken to my elder sister home. Only God can guarantee my safety as I am not safe in the hands of these evil people”, he said.
