Barely less than a week after her appointment as the Director General of South East Governors’ Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, has received congratulatory message from the Catholic Woman Organization of Assumption Catholic Church, Asokoro, Abuja.
The Zone 3 of the CWO of the Parish paid a glowing tribute to Ekwunife, who they dubbed as one of their own and a strong and committed member of the organization.
During the 9th Assembly, it is on record that Ekwunife ranked top of her contemporaries in terms of sponsored motions and bills, infrastructural development projects, facilitations of empowerment trainings, workshops and pensionable jobs for constituents. Also, Ekwunife through the instrumentality of legislation built and furnished 3-bedroom bungalows for more than 35 widows and the less privileged across the district.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs. Prima Elumelu, CWO Zone 3 Leader, described Ekwunife’s recent appointment as a round peg in a round hole, adding that the Senator will bring her wealth of experience to the fore. She commended the South East Governors’ for making the right choice in the person of Ekwunife.
Mrs. Elumelu noted that the Ekwunife’s capacity to deliver in any given assignment has never been in doubt and urged the Senator to work closely with the forum for the collective interest of the South East.
The CWO leader while further appreciating Ekwunife for her immense contribution towards the growth of the Organization, the Church and the society prayed and wished Ekwunife well as she assumes her new responsibility.
In her appreciation message, Ekwunife expressed delight for the goodwill message and pledged to her best for the success of the forum and the overall socio-economic development of the region. She promised to discharge her duties, as the DG of SEGF, with utmost sense of commitment and pride.
